Last Time Out:  

DU is coming off of two dual meet wins this past weekend. On Friday, Denver defeated Southeast Missouri State 194.775-194.075 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The Pioneers followed up with a 194.400-193.925 win over Illinois State on Sunday in Normal, Ill.

All-Time Against Ohio State:                

The Pioneers are 4-5 all-time against No. 16 Ohio State. The squads last faced off on Feb. 22, 2007, as the Buckeyes traveled to Denver. DU won the dual meet 195.550-195.100.

Scouting the Buckeyes:

No. 16 Ohio State (3-1-1, 1-0-1 Big Ten) is coming off of a first place finish against Bowling Green and Western Michigan. The Buckeyes recorded a season-high 195.450, while Western Michigan took second place (192.650) and Bowling Green placed third with a 190.400.

In the victory, Melanie Shaffer set career highs on beam (9.800) and floor (9.850), and tied her career mark on vault (9.825) to earn Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week honors.

Pioneer Rankings:           

Denver is ranked No. 25 in the nation and sixth in the region with an average team score of 194.280. The Pioneers are also ranked 17th in the nation on vault and on bars with an average score of 48.765 in each event. The team ranks second on vault and sixth on bars in the region. DU is also 30th in the nation and sixth in the region on beam (48.155), as well as ranked 26th in the nation and seventh in the region on floor (48.575).
