Pioneers Drop 6-1 Decision at St. Mary's

MORAGA, Calif. - Denver closed out the regular season with a 6-1 loss at No. 41 St. Mary's College Sunday afternoon at Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

The Pioneers fall to 7-13 with the loss, while St. Mary's improves to 11-7.

Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) beat Anna Chkhikvishvili 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for DU's lone win.

Elena Najera (San Diego, Calif.) and Caroline Schnell (Greenwood Village, Colo.) battled in three-set losses for the Pioneers. Najera lost 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 to No. 88 Catherine Isip at No. 2 singles and Schnell dropped a 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 loss to Jenny Jullien at No. 4 singles.

The Pioneers play at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament on April 20-24.
