Pioneers Blank Mean Green, 4-0

DENVER - Denver blanked North Texas 4-0 in women's tennis action this afternoon at Stapleton Tennis Pavilion on the DU campus.

The Pioneers avenge a Friday loss to Oklahoma State with the win and improve to 7-11. The Mean Green fall to 6-10.

DU won the doubles point and the first three singles matches to clinch the win.

"We started out playing great in the doubles and that really set the tone for the day," DU head coach Jeremy Wurtzman said. "I was very proud of the whole team as we competed hard and were able to finish off our opponents. We look to build on this as we get ready for the conference championship."

The Pioneers took a 1-0 with the doubles win and received singles wins from Sophia Bergner (Schechen, Germany), Elena Najera (San Diego, Calif.) and Emma Isberg (Tyreso, Sweden) to get the win.

Caroline Schnell (Greewood Village, Colo.), Natalie Dunn (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Steffi Rath (Hochst, Austria) played unfinished singles matches.

DU returns to action at Sacramento State on April 8.
