KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. - The Denver men's tennis team battled No. 32 Michigan and No. 33 LSU in second day action of the Key Biscayne Invitational Saturday in Key Biscayne, Fla. The Pioneers competed against the Wolverines in doubles and the Tigers in singles and doubles in the individual tournament.
Junior Enej Bonin (Koper, Slovenia), senior Yannick Weihs (Guntramsdorf, Austria), junior Fabio Biasion (Velbert, Germany) and freshman Luke Manley (Edmonton, Alberta) posted singles wins against LSU. Bonin beat Olivier Borsos at No. 1 and Weihs beat James Turbervill at No. 2. Biasion beat Chris Simpson in three sets at No. 4, while Manley was a three-set winner over David Roberts at No. 7.
Weihs and freshman Othar Kordsachia (Hamburg, Germany) beat LSU's Roger Anderson and Stefan Szacinski 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Action concludes Sunday at the Key Biscayne Invite.
