DENVER - The third-seed University of Denver women's soccer team defeated second-seeded IUPUI 1-0 in the second Summit League Semifinal on Thursday evening at CIBER Field at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium.

Sophomore Brooke Boothe (Ontario, Calif.) scored the lone goal of the match to send Denver to its second-consecutive Summit League Final.

"I really liked our movement off the ball, and the runs that we were making," head coach Jeff Hooker said. "Some of that soccer was just really fun to watch. Unfortunately that final pass is what we had an issue with when we played these guys last time. We felt it might be a goal off the knee or someone's head or shin or something. We just have to be a little more discipline in-front of goal with the timing of everything."

Denver and IUPUI played to a scoreless first half on Thursday night with Denver holding an 11-1 shot advantage.

Boothe found the breakthrough just before the hour mark on a rebound off a set piece. Junior Stella Norman (Lakewood, Colo.) took the Pioneers' third corner kick of the evening. After the Norman set piece banged off heads in the box, freshman Lauren Conley (Centennial, Colo.) took a shot from 12 yards out that was saved by IUPUI keeper Catherine Schmidt, but the rebound fell to Boothe, who knocked it into the empty net.

With the win on Thursday, it's Denver's ninth-straight 10-win season and Hooker's 19th in his 23 seasons at the helm. Denver improved to 29-5-2 in league tournaments, and will look to improve its 8-1-1 record in finals in its next game.

Saturday Denver will take on the top-seeded South Dakota State Jackrabbits at CIBER Field at 1 p.m. The championship match will air live on Altitude Sports and will be picked up by ESPN3.

"South Dakota State had the better of the play today," Hooker said. "They spread the field out really well, and played a good attractive brand of soccer. I think it'll be a great final for the fans to come out and see on Saturday."
