DU Women's Lacrosse Welcomes 8 Newcomers

DENVER - The University of Denver women's lacrosse team welcomes eight student-athletes to the 2015 roster, head women's lacrosse coach Liza Kelly announced.

"The DU women's lacrosse staff is excited to welcome the class of 2018 to campus," Kelly said. "Each of these players have worked extremely hard in the classroom and on the athletic field to get to Denver. They are well-rounded individuals whose passion for the University of Denver and our lacrosse program was evident throughout the recruiting process. It has been a pleasure getting to know the girls and their families over the past few years. We are so excited to finally get to coach them and truly welcome them to the Pioneer family."

Hanna Bocklet (Cross River, N.Y.) helped lead John Jay High School to the N.Y. State Class B Semi-finals, the furthest in program history, and captained her 2014 team. She was also named All-League and All-Section in 2014 and earned the NYPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award from 2011-14.

Caitlin Derry (Seal Beach, Calif.) set records at her high school in draw controls overall and in single season during her four-year starting varsity stint. She was also named First Team All-County two years in a row and selected as Offensive MVP and High School All-American.

A four-year varsity starter, Delia Snediker (Lake Forest, Ill.) helped her team win four Illinois State Championships. Named to the honor roll all four years, she was selected for the All-Conference Team, First Team All-State and First Team All-American in 2014.

Riley Eggeman (Mission Viejo, Calif.) scored 99 goals during her high school campaign, and earned a featured interview in High School Illustrated Magazine. A captain from 2012-14, she was named to the Women's Developmental National Team in 2011 and 2012 as well as First Team All-League and All-County.

A tri-sport captain at high school, Katherine Fischer (Upper Nyack, N.Y.) was named MVP in lacrosse and All-Country First Team in 2013 and 2014. Reaching 100 career goals in her junior year, she was also named All-Section (Section 1) Lacrosse Team from 2012-14. She excelled in the classroom, making honor roll and the top-five percent of her class from 2010-14, and received the Golden Dozen Award for recognition to 12 senior athletes for achievement in academics, athletics and community service in 2014.

Kennedy Milburn (Whitby, Ontario) participated in both field and box lacrosse in high school, being selected to the Senior Women's Team Canada Top 30. She won four National Championships and five Provincial Championships in box lacrosse, as well as three Provincial Championships, three LOSSA Championships and one OFSAA Championship. In field lacrosse, she won one Summer Games Championship.

Finley Sutton (Chadds Ford, Penn.), a four-year varsity starter and captain her senior season, she led her team in draw controls from 2012-14. She also made the National Tournament Team Philadelphia as well as being a Unanimous Friends School League first team selection for lacrosse and field hockey. Outside of sports, she earned the AP Scholar Award, was named to the National Honor Society and earned Honor Roll from 2010-14.

Casey White (Queensbury, N.Y.), a sophomore transfer, played in three games for James Madison University where she recorded one caused turnover. As a four-year starter and three-year captain in high school, she was named as U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American, Freshman Most Outstanding Athlete and four-time First Team All-Conference (Foothills).

Of White, Kelly said, "I know that [she] will be a wonderful addition to our sophomore class. She impressed me with her love of the game and her willingness to work hard to achieve her goals. She joins a class that is talented, spunky and dedicated to taking this team to the next level."

Coming off a program-best 19-2 record in 2014 which saw the most wins in school history as well as a 17-game winning streak, both returners and newcomers look to continue the Pioneers' record-breaking ways this upcoming season.
