Denver Set for Big East Championship Rematch Against Villanova

DENVER -- The University of Denver women's lacrosse team travels to Philadelphia to take on the Villanova Wildcats on April 11 in Pennsylvania. 

The Pioneers are a perfect 14-0 against the Wildcats, including a 14-9 win last season to earn their fifth consecutive Big East Tournament title.  

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE
Denver defeated Marquette, 15-9, on April 1 at Peter Barton LS. Olivia Ripple and Eva Thomsen-Marr led the Pioneers with four goals each.
The Pioneers travel to Pennsylvania for a rematch of the 2025 Big East Championship game against Villanova on Saturday, April 11.
DU returns home for games against in-state rival, Colorado, on April 15 before hosting Xavier for senior day on April 18.  

THE RIPPLE EFFECT
Junior attacker Olivia Ripple tied for the sixth-fastest Pioneer to reach the 100 goal milestone, doing so on March 13 in 48 games.
Ripple leads the Big East and is 7th in the nation , averaging 3.92 goals per game and her 47 goals this season are good for 8th nationally. 
She broke the single-game scoring record with 10 goals in the Pioneers' 23-10 victory over Marquette last season.
Her 63 goals in 2025 are good for 5th most in a single season.
The California native owns the record for most goals in a postseason game with 7 in the 20-9 victory over Georgetown in the Big East Semifinal game.

A BALANCED OFFENSE
The Pioneers rank 13th in the countryin scoring offense, averaging 14.67 goals per game.
Denver has six different attackers in double-digit goals so far this season - Olivia Ripple (47),Caroline Keil (37),  Eva Thomsen-Marr (29), Ryan Dineen (21), Karleigh Mutch  (14) and Caroline Bowers (13).
The Crimson and Gold have had five or more goal scorers in every game this season.
Ripple and Thomsen-Marr lead the team with three game-winning goals each.

MUTCH DOING MUCH
Freshman midfielder Karleigh Mutch is fifth on the squad with 14 goals and 10 assists through 12 contests. 
Her 13 draw wins are good tied for fourth on the team.
The Massachussetts native earned her first career hat-trick against High Point (3/01) and made a career-high three assists vs. Fairfield (3/08).
