NEW YORK -- [4/3] University of Denver men's lacrosse senior attackman Wesley Berg (Coquitlam, B.C.), freshman FOGO Trevor Baptiste (Denville, N.J.) and sophomore defenderĂ‚ Christian Burgdorf (Westfield, N.J.) all earned major awards, highlighting nine Pioneers that earned BIG EAST postseason honors, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

"We are obviously happy with the recognition of our players who were voted by the league's coaches for Big East honors," head coach Bill Tierney said. "Whenever a team does well, some will be noticed and highlighted with such awards. More importantly however, I am confident that each of these young men would be quick to mention their teammates as being most influential in their support, hard work and unselfishness, which allowed us to have success in the regular season."

Berg (BIG EAST Attack Player of the Year), sophomore Connor Cannizzaro (Cazenovia, N.Y.), sophomore Zach Miller (Steamburg, N.Y.), senior Erik Adamson (Anaheim Hills, Calif.), Burgdorf (Defensive Player of the Year) and Baptiste (Midfielder of the Year) were all unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST selections, while senior defender Carson Cannon (Stillwater, Minn.) was also selected to the first team.

Baptiste, Berg and Cannizzaro were all named Tewaaraton nominees when the watch list was trimmed to 25 on April 23.

Senior long-stick midfielder Mike Riis (Carlsbad, Calif.) and goalkeeper Ryan LaPlante (Fort Collins, Colo.) were both voted Second Team All-BIG EAST.

Denver takes on tournament-hosts Villanova in the semifinals of the 2015 BIG EAST Tournament Presented by New York Life on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET/5 p.m. MT. Both of Thursday's semifinals will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (Fox Sports Go).
