NEW YORK -- [5/5] University of Denver men's lacrosse senior attackman Wesley Berg (Coquitlam, B.C.) has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. 

Berg was involved in the first six Pioneer goals in Friday's 15-4 win over Villanova, including scoring the first five. The DU senior played a role in 10 of Denver's 11 first-half goals, scoring seven and assisting on three others. Berg (154G-59A-213P) is now just four points and two goals away from breaking Mark Matthews' (2009-12) career points and career goals records in a DU uniform (155G-61A-216P). 

Denver is fifth in all three polls that were released on Monday. 

The Pioneers travel to St. John's Saturday for the team's BIG EAST road opener. Faceoff is set for 11 a.m. MT, and the game will be streamed on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
