PERRY N.Y. -- [5/5] University of Denver men's lacrosse senior attackman Wesley Berg (Coquitlam, B.C.) has been named the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) National Player of the Week, the USILA announced on Wednesday. 

Berg was involved in the first six Pioneer goals in Friday's 15-4 win over Villanova, including scoring the first five. The DU senior played a role in 10 of Denver's 11 first-half goals, scoring seven and assisting on three others. Berg (154G-59A-213P) is now just four points and two goals away from breaking Mark Matthews' (2009-12) career points and career goals records in a DU uniform (155G-61A-216P). 

Denver is fifth in all three polls that were released on Monday. Berg was also named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. 

DU travels to St. John's Saturday for the team's BIG EAST road opener. Faceoff is set for 11 a.m. MT, and the game will be streamed on the BIG EAST Digital Network (Fox Sports Go).
