DENVER HEADS BACK TO CALIFORNIA

March 24, 2016

DENVER - The University of Denver men's tennis team will travel to California again this weekend for two away matches against the California Polytechnic Institute and the University of California Santa Barbara.

"Cal Poly and UCSB have had really good wins this year and they are playing better now," head coach Ricardo Rubio said. "We are back on road and we need to finish our non-conference schedule strong before we get ready for four Summit League matches. Our doubles play was strong this past weekend and when we are able to win the doubles point, we are tough to beat."

The 47th-ranked Pioneers are set to take on Cal Poly this Friday in San Luis Obispo, Calif. at 12:00 p.m. MT. Denver will then travel to Santa Barbara, Calif. to compete against UCSB on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. MT.

The Pioneers just wrapped up competition at the San Diego Invitational this past weekend in San Diego, Calif. DU went 1-2 in their three matches, falling to No.22 Tulane 4-3 on Thursday before beating the University of Harvard 4-3 on Friday. Denver finished the tournament with a 4-2 loss to No. 33 Memphis.
