BIG EAST Tournament Tickets | 2016 Schedule

PERRY, N.Y.- University of Denver men's lacrosse junior attackman Connor Cannizzaro (Cazenovia, N.Y.) has been named the USILA/Lids Team Sports Division I National Offensive Player of the Week, the USILA announced on Tuesday.

Cannizzaro netted his second-career sock trick on Saturday to lead then fourth-ranked Denver to a 12-11 BIG EAST victory at [16/18] Villanova. A 2015 USILA First Team All-America selection, Cannizzaro scored four of his six goals in the second half, including the game-winning strike off a feed from sophomore FOGO Trevor Baptiste (Denville, N.J.) with 2:58 to go in regulation.

Freshman goaltender Alex Ready (Lancaster, Pa.) made a season-high 16 saves and was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday. On March 16, Ready was named USILA/Lids Team Sports Division I Defensive Player of the Week.

The Pioneers moved up to a spot to No. 3 in all three major polls on Monday, and were No. 2 in the official NCAA RPI released on Monday.

UP NEXT: Denver will open a stretch of two of three at home to wrap-up the regular season at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium against St. John's Saturday at 12 p.m. MT (Altitude TV/104.3 The Fan).

2016 BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS: Tickets for the 2016 BIG EAST Championships presented by Jeep are on sale now and can be purchased here. The semifinals will be played at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. MT on May 5, and the final will faceoff at 2:30 p.m. MT at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.
