MAUI, Hawai'i - Following a seventh place finish this morning in the prelims, incoming Denver men's swimmer Stephen Calkins (Calgary, Alberta) finished sixth in Thursday night's 100 Free final at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships at Kihei Aquatic Center in Maui, Hawai'i.
Calkins swam a 51.61 (24.37-27.24) this morning, and improved on his time by three-tenths in the final, finishing at 51.31 (24.57-26.74).
Fellow incomer Colin Gilbert (Kamloops, B.C.) swam the leadoff leg of the men's 4X200 free relay, helping Canada to a third place finish.
Gilbert finished sixth on Wednesday night in the 200M Butterfly.
Later this week, Gilbert will swim in the 400 Free (Friday) and Calkins will swim in the 100 Fly (Friday) and 50 Free (Saturday).
