INDIANAPOLIS -- The University of Denver men's and women's swimming programs swept the four swimming events, two relays apiece on night one of the 2017 Summit League Championships Wednesday at IUPUI Natatorium.

Following the women's 3-meter diving prelims on Wednesday, Denver's women's 200 medley relay cleared the rest of the field by 4.83 seconds to earn the first 40 points of the championship as senior Johanna Roas (Munich, Germany), classmate Amanda Sanders (Superior, Colo.), junior Heidi Bradley (Victoria, B.C.) and sophomore Lauren Moden (Parker, Colo.) combined for a time of 1:38.11. Based on times entering this week, the relay time would be the 22nd ranked time in the country this season.
Denver's men's 200 medley relay broke a Summit League and University of Denver record Wednesday night with junior Anton Loncar (Hillsboro, Ore.), senior Tim Cottam (Sydney, Australia), redshirt-senior Kyle Robrock (Savage, Minn.) and freshman Sid Farber (Portland, Ore.) inking their names into both record books with a time of 1:26.02. The DU men's time ranks 21st in the country based on times entering the week.
Races shifted to the 800 free relay to wrap-up the swimming on a brief night one of the championships. Roas, sophomore Bailey Andison (Smiths Falls, Ontario), junior Morgan McCormick (Golden, Colo.) and classmate Maddie Myers (Arvada, Colo.) snapped Denver's previous league record by 0.22 seconds after a time of 7:11.67. Denver's B-relay touched second in the event with a time of 7:19.30.
DU's men's 800 free relays also touched 1-2 as freshman Colin Gilbert (Kamloops, B.C.), senior Scott Bergstrom (White Salmon, Wash.), freshman Hugo Sykes (Weston, Conn.) and senior Luke Williams (Scottsdale, Ariz.) recorded a time of 6:30.23, beating the next closest opponent by 7.31 seconds.
Wednesday also featured the prelims and finals for the women's 3-meter dive. Denver freshmen Sammy Walker (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Sydney Brookstein (Broomfield, Colo.) finished 10th and 11th, respectively in the night's lone diving event.
