DENVER - Following Sunday afternoon's victory over previously top-ranked Notre Dame, the University of Denver men's lacrosse program has vaulted back up to the top spot of both major polls on Monday morning.
Denver took eight of the 15 first place votes in the coaches' poll, and holds an eight point lead over unbeaten Penn State, who grabbed five first place votes. Notre Dame dropped to three, while Maryland received two first place votes but dropped to fourth.
The Pioneers received 16 of the 32 first place votes in the Maverik Media Poll, a poll this week that saw six different teams receive a first place vote. Denver has topped or been in a tie for first in the media poll in four of the last five weeks. The Crimson and Gold have a 41 point cushion in the media poll.
In the Lacrosse Magazine staff rankings on Monday, Denver sits in second behind Penn State.

Denver men's lacrosse, Presented by Your Hometown Toyota Stores, will head out on the road for the first time in 2017 next week to take on Ohio State on Sunday, March 19, with faceoff set for 3 p.m. MT in Columbus, Ohio. Sunday's game will be broadcast live on ESPNU and ESPN Denver 1600.
