Slattery & Radosevic Named to #SummitWTN Academic All-League Team

May 23, 2017

Five women's tennis players were selected to the 2017 Summit League Academic All-League Team as voted by a panel of Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors of the league's member institutions. Student-athletes were chosen for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this season.

League champion Denver led the way with a pair of honorees in Sonja Radosevic and Maureen Slattery. All five members of the squad are repeat performers, led by Radosevic and South Dakota's Iasmin Rosa, who each earned their third academic all-league selection.

Radosevic, an academic all-league honoree in both 2014 and 2015, owns a 3.94 GPA as a biology major. She was named all-league after posting perfect records in singles (6-0) and doubles (5-0) against Summit League foes and went 16-6 and 18-2, respectively, overall.

Slattery, The Summit League's Player of the Year, garnered her second consecutive academic all-league honor. The economics major owns a 3.76 GPA and went a perfect 5-0 in The Summit League in both singles and doubles matches. She teamed for an 18-2 doubles record and is part of 32 doubles teams to compete at the NCAA Championships after spending the entire season ranked in the top 20 nationally.

Rosa, with a 3.86 GPA in civil engineering, posted an 11-10 singles record, including a 4-2 Summit League mark during the season. She went 6-0 in league doubles matches on her way to a 13-7 overall record.

IUPUI's Samantha Mayer also received her second consecutive academic all-league selections while Omaha's Michelle Lo earned her second career honor after a 2015 accolade.

Mayer, with a 3.99 GPA in mechanical engineering, won seven singles and six doubles matches during the season. She went 3-3 in Summit League singles matches and added a doubles win in league play.

Lo went 12-9 at No. 1 singles, including a 4-2 league mark, and added six doubles victories to earn all-league honors this season. She holds a 3.87 GPA as an aviation major and business minor.

To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
