DENVER -
University of Denver Pioneers (2-2, 0-0) junior Bianca Mok has been named Summit League Player of the Week, the Summit League announced on Tuesday.
Mok, a Boise, Idaho native, posted a 2-0 record at No. 2 singles and a 2-0 record at No. 1 doubles in Denver’s matches against Fresno State and No. 24 Washington last weekend.
On the singles court, Mok recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win against Katerina Stloukalova of Fresno State and a 6-2, 6-1 win against Miki Kobayashi of No. 24 Washington. On the doubles court, Mok and partner Julia O’Loughlin combined to defeat Fresno State’s Georgia Lawson and Emma Wilson, 6-1, and Washington’s Miki Kobayashi and Vanessa Wong, 6-2.
The league honor marks the second for the Pioneers and first for Mok this season.
The Pioneers earned a 6-1 win against Fresno State on Feb. 3 and fell 5-2 to Washington on Feb. 4. Denver is set for its first home match of the season on Feb. 9 against Utah State at the Colorado Athletic Club - Monaco.
