Pioneers to Play Four Matches in Five Days

DENVER -

The Denver Pioneers (14-4, 3-0) are set for their busiest stretch of the season with four road matches in five days beginning on Friday, April 13 against Nebraska Omaha.

Denver enters the weekend on a nine-match winning streak and having not allowed a team point in three-consecutive matches. The last time the Pioneers allowed a team point was on March 24 at UNLV.

No. 55 Julia O’Loughlin headlines Denver with an 11-3 singles record and a 9-3 mark on the No. 1 court. Hada Chang and Bianca Mok have also been proven contributors for the Pioneers with 13-2 and 12-2 records, respectively. Chang is on an 11-match winning streak on the singles court.

Hada Chang and Anna Riedmiller have proven to be a winning combination on the doubles court with a team-leading 7-4 record, while O’Loughlin and Mok are ranked No. 24 in doubles with a 5-2 mark.

Denver’s match against Nebraska Omaha is set for 2 p.m. MT. The Pioneers will wrap up their season with a match against Western Illinois on Saturday, April 14 at 11 a.m. MT, a match against South Dakota on April 15 at 11 a.m. MT and a match against Colorado on April 17 at 2 p.m. MT.

The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund. The sport with the highest percentage of alumni participation will receive an additional $10,000 of support through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
