Denver Moves Back Up to Third in National Polls

DENVER - The University of Denver men's lacrosse team moved back up a spot to No. 3 in both major polls this week ahead of the Pioneers trip to Villanova for the 2018 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship, presented by Jeep.

Yale and Maryland are in the top two spots in both polls this week, and Duke and Albany round out the top-five in both.

BIG EAST Tournament hosts Villanova checked in at No. 12 in the coaches' poll and No. 14 in the Maverik Media Poll. The tournament's No. 2 seed Georgetown is 17th in the coaches' poll and No. 18 in the media poll.

The Pioneers dropped a spot in the Lacrosse Magazine Staff poll to No. 4 this week.

Denver is coming off of its fifth-straight outright BIG EAST Regular Season title after defeating Marquette 7-4 on Saturday at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

The [3/3] University of Denver men's lacrosse team, Presented by Your Hometown Toyota Stores, will take on Marquette for the second time in five days in the BIG EAST Semifinal on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. MT. This season marks the second-straight year the Pioneers and Golden Eagles will play in consecutive games and the third-straight year they will meet in the BIG EAST Tournament. Thursday's game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network and ESPN Denver 1600 (Pioneer Pregame - 2 p.m.).
