Denver to Play Kansas in First Round of NCAA Tournament

DENVER -

The Denver Pioneers (19-4, 6-0) will play the Kansas Jayhawks in the first round of the NCAA tournament on May 11, 2018 at 10 a.m. PT in Malibu, Calif., the NCAA announced on Tuesday.

The winner of the match will play the winner of the Pepperdine/Idaho match on May 12.

Denver is set for its fifth-consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament after clinching the Summit League title and earning an automatic spot in the tournament. The Pioneers have posted two NCAA tournament wins in program history with victories against USC (2017) and Long Beach State (2008). Last season, the Pioneers upset No. 25 USC in the first-round of the NCAA tournament before falling to No. 7 Texas Tech in the second round. Denver enters the tournament on a 14-match winning streak.

The individual NCAA Selection Show is set for Wednesday, May 2 at 4 p.m. MT

The University of Denver is holding an alumni giving challenge for the 2017-2018 season in an effort to increase student-athlete alumni participation in the Denver Athletics Annual Fund.
