Denver Set for First Round of NCAA Tournament

DENVER -

The Denver Pioneers (19-4, 6-0) are riding a 14-match winning streak ahead of their matchup against the Kansas Jayhawks in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday, May 11 at 10 a.m. PT in Malibu, Calif.

The Pioneers earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament after having defeated Western Illinois and South Dakota en route to winning their fifth-straight Summit League title.

Denver has posted two NCAA tournament wins in program history with victories against USC (2017) and Long Beach State (2008). Last season, the Pioneers upset No. 25 USC in the first-round of the NCAA tournament before falling to No. 7 Texas Tech in the second round.

Summit League Player of the Year Bianca Mok leads the Pioneers with a 17-2 singles record and a 16-1 mark at No. 2, while 2017 All-American Julia O'Loughlin has recorded a 14-4 record and a 12-4 mark at No. 1. Summit League Newcomer of the Year Hada Chang has also shined for Denver with 16-2 singles record.

On the doubles court, Chang and Anna Riedmiller have an 11-4 record and a 10-2 mark at No. 2, while Mok and Camille Verden-Anderson have an 11-1 record and a 7-0 mark at No. 3.

The winner of the match will play the winner of the Pepperdine/Idaho match on May 12 at 12 p.m. PT.
