May 24, 2018

DENVER - The University of Denver women's gymnastics team will welcome Ashlyn Johnson for the 2019 season, head coach Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart announced on Thursday.

"We're excited to have Ashlyn join our team," Kutcher-Rinehart said. "She's an intelligent, determined and mature young woman. She fits the DU Gymnastics philosophy of teamwork, character and excellence, and she'll bring dedication, reliability and commitment to the team. We're looking forward to see her continue to flourish as a gymnast here at DU."

Johnson is a Level 10 gymnast from Gainesville, Fla., and Sun Country Gymnastics. She is a four-time Region 8 Championships qualifier as a Level 10 gymnast. At the 2018 Florida State Championships, she finished in the top five in the all-around and on bars, beam and floor. In 2017, she won the state title on bars, was second in the all-around and on floor, and was third on beam.
