IRVINE, Calif. – The University of Denver men's swimming trio of freshman
Cameron Auchinachie (Binghamton, N.Y.), sophomore
Sid Farber (Portland, Ore.) and
Kyle Robrock all swam in the 100 free preliminaries on the opening day of the Phillips 66 Nationals Championships on Wednesday at the William Woollett Aquatics Center.
Auchinachie led the Denver trio with a 46
th place finish in 50.34. Farber was 0.06 seconds behind him to take 47
th and Robrock finished 51
st with a time of 50.61.
Freshman
Adriel Sanes (Rosharon, Texas) and incoming freshman
Patrick Groters (Santa Cruz, Aruba) have been competing this week at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Colombia. Their finishes have been highlighted by Groters' fifth place finish in the 200 IM (2:04.13) and Sanes' ninth place finish in the 50 breast (29.22). The two swimmers will be in action in their final events tonight.
