• The Pioneers dropped their season opener at Colorado State, 74-63 on Tuesday.
• Denver had four players score in double figures, led by senior Ade Murkey's 18 points. 
• Murkey got to the rim on numerous occasions, shooting an efficient 8-for-14 (57.1 percent)
• David Nzekwesi, Taelyr Gatlin and Roscoe Eastmond each added 10 points.
• Nzekwesi was also a factor in the paint, recording two blocks and one steal.
• DU played some solid perimeter defense, holding the Rams to 30.4 percent from beyond the arc (7-for-23).

Right Kind of Debut
• Eastmond made quite the freshman debut at Colorado State on Nov. 5.
• The Marietta, Ga. native provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 10 points in 27 minutes.
• Eastmond also handed out two assists.
• He showcased his speed and play making ability, creating scoring opportunities by getting into the paint regularly.

Home Openers Under Billups
• Denver is looking at making it two straight wins in its home opener under head coach Rodney Billups.
• The Pioneers won last year's opener 63-50 against Maine in Magness Arena.
