Auchinachie Ready for 2019 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships

The Denver sophomore will compete in the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free this week
AUSTIN, Texas – University of Denver men's swimmer Cameron Auchinachie (Binghamton, N.Y.) will travel to Austin, Texas, this weekend to compete in the 2019 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships to be held March 27-30 at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Auchinachie will compete in the 50 free (Thursday), 100 free (Saturday) and 200 free (Friday) in his second NCAA Championships appearance.
A year ago at the NCAA Championships, Auchinachie was a part of the first men's All-America relay in program history, finishing 15th in the prelims with a school record 1:17.43 in the 200 free relay. The quartet would go on to break the school record again to finish 14th in the finals with a 1:17.22. Auchinachie was also part of the 400 free relay that broke the school record at the national meet, combining for a 2:52.44.
This season, Auchinachie earned three NCAA B Standards in his three freestyle events, and also earned an Olympic Trial Standard in the 50 free in December. At last month's Summit League Championships, Auchinachie broke the Summit League Championship records in the 50 free twice (19.4 Prelims/19.26 Finals) and in the 100 free finals (42.65). Auchinachie was a part of Summit League wins in the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, 50 free, 100 free and 400 medley relay.
