Pioneers Head to Northwest for Bandon Dunes Championship

Round one set for Sunday
DENVER – The University of Denver golf team heads to the Northwest to compete in the 10th annual Bandon Dunes Championship this upcoming weekend. The tournament is set for round one to begin on Sunday at the Bandon Dunes Course of the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.
Par for the 6,954-yard course is 72.
Gonzaga will play host for the 54-hole event, which features 17 teams including No. 10 SMU and No. 33 Oregon.
This marks the third time that the Bandon Dunes Course has been the course the tournament is played on.
Head coach Erik Billinger is going with the lineup of Eric Hagen, Roy Kang, John Sand, Esteban Missura and Cal McCoy.
The Pioneers are coming off a 13th-place finish at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate back on Feb. 24.
Sand looks to build off a 20th-place finish at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate where the sophomore shot a 4-over 220 for the tournament.
