DENVER – University of Denver senior goalkeeper
Brittany Wilson (Littleton, Colo.) has been named the Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Wilson made six saves in a pair of shutouts last weekend, including the Pioneers' victory over then-24
th-ranked Texas.
Denver's win over the Longhorns on Thursday was its first over a ranked opponent since the Pioneers shutout No. 17 BYU 1-0 on September 26, 2013, and their first top-25 win at home since defeating defending National Champion and No. 2-ranked Portland 4-3 in Overtime on August 31, 2003.
In her career, Wilson now has 21 shutouts and 32 victories for the Crimson and Gold. Wilson has kept a cleansheet in each of Denver's last nine non-NCAA Tournament matches.
