SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – University of Denver sophomore forward
Samantha Feller (Grand Junction, Colo.) has been named the Summit League Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Feller assisted on
Camryn MacMillan's (Littleton, Colo.) late equalizer in a 1-1 draw Thursday at UC Riverside before scoring the game-winner in a 1-0 victory at [RV] Cal State Northridge on Sunday afternoon to close out non-league action.
The Denver sophomore scored in the 42
nd minute on Sunday, her third goal of the season and her 12
th in 27 games of her Pioneer career.
Feller's assist on MacMillan's goal was the third-latest tally in regulation in Denver's Division I history.
Denver is now 8-11-0 against teams listed in the "other teams received votes" in the coaches' poll in its Division I history, including now 4-5-0 away from home. The Pioneers first road victory of the season gets the program back to .500 in 2019 (4-4-2) ahead of the start of Summit League play.
UP NEXT:
The Pioneers will open Summit League play next Sunday when they travel to Oral Roberts. Kickoff for the league opener is set for 12 p.m. MT.
