DENVER – The University of Denver women's gymnastics team is ranked No. 7 in the Road to Nationals rankings, released on Monday.
DU increased its National Qualifying Score (NQS) with its 197.000 performance at Oklahoma on Saturday, February 29. Denver's current NQS of 197.135 is the second-highest in program history.
NQS is calculated with the six highest scores of the season, at least three of which must be from away meets. The highest score is dropped, and the remaining five scores are averaged.

Denver is again ranked in the top 10 on three events and in the top 20 on all four. DU's bars squad leads the way with a No. 4 ranking and an NQS of 49.395. After improving its beam NQS to 49.380, DU is ranked No. 6 on the event this week.
DU jumped three spots in the vault rankings after increasing its NQS to 49.235, which is now the sixth-highest on the event in Denver history. The team's NQS on floor also improved following the meet at Oklahoma and is now 49.265, ranking the team No. 17 nationally.
Senior
Maddie Karr (Stillwater, Minn.) continues to hold national rankings on all four events and the all-around. She is again No. 3 in the country in the all-around with what is now the second-highest NQS in program history (39.655).
Following her second perfect 10.0 of the season on vault, Karr moved up to a tie for No. 3 on the event with an NQS of 9.925. On bars, she is also ranked No. 3 after increasing her program record-setting NQS to 9.955. She is now the first Denver gymnast to be ranked in the top five on two of the four events in the same week of NQS rankings.
The DU senior is also in the top 10 nationally on floor, tied for No. 9 (9.920), and is tied for No. 16 on beam (9.910).
Sophomore
Alexis Vasquez (Arcadia, Calif.) is once again ranked near the top of the beam rankings. For the second week in a row, she is ranked No. 4 in the nation on the event after improving her NQS to 9.960 – just .005 out of the No. 2 ranking. She also extended her own record for highest beam NQS in program history.
Junior
Lynnzee Brown (Kansas City, Mo.) is No. 6 in the all-around (39.555), tied for No. 9 on floor (9.920), tied for No. 14 on beam (9.895) and tied for No. 22 on beam (9.925).
The University of Denver gymnastics team, presented by Your Hometown Toyota Stores, welcomes No. 12 Washington, San Jose State and Alaska on Sunday, March 8, for DU's final regular season home meet on the year.
