DENVER – The Denver Pioneers women's tennis team announced its regular-season schedule for the 2021 season on Tuesday.
The scope of the 2020 Denver Pioneers women's tennis season could be narrowed to two days. Specifically, two moments:
Tatum Burger's 6-7 (3), 6-2, 6-4 win at #5 singles vs. No. 25 South Carolina and
Camille Verden-Anderson's 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 win at #6 vs. Texas Tech. The match-clinching points were highlights of the Pioneers' abbreviated 12-4 (1-0) season that ended March 13 and the entire roster returns to build upon that foundation.
Schedule Highlights
- Denver prepares to open the season at the ITA Kick Off from Jan. 22-24 in Palo Alto, California
- Notwithstanding the ITA Kick Off, the Pioneers are set to play nine of its 15 scheduled matches at the Denver Tennis Park
- Denver has scheduled five Power-Five opponents: Kansas (Feb. 12), Kansas State (Feb. 13), Colorado (Feb. 21), Utah (Feb. 27) and Washington State (April 5)
- The Pioneers are set to open Summit League play on Sunday, March 14 at Western Illinois
- The Summit League Tournament will be held in the Mile High City from April 30 – May 1 at the Denver Tennis Park
