SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – University of Denver Volleyball junior
Brianna Green was named the Summit League Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday in a release by the league. Green was selected for her efficient play this past weekend, helping lead the Pioneers to two victories at home.
This is the first time that the outside hitter has won the award in her career.
The Cedar Hill, Texas native was dialed in during Denver's two victories this past week. The middle blocker opened her impressive run with seven kills and a .545 hitting percentage in a straight sets victory over South Dakota State last Thursday.
Green was at her best though on Saturday, providing a big impact with her play in leading DU's epic comeback against South Dakota. She finished with a season-most 11 kills while continuing to be uber-efficient, posting a .556 attack percentage.
For the weekend, Green finished with 18 kills and an impressive .551 hitting percentage.
The Pioneers (16-2, 7-1 SL) hit the road this weekend for two matches. First up, the second meeting of the season against St. Thomas on Thursday at 6 p.m. MT.
