USAFA, Colo. – The University of Denver women's tennis team made a statement in its opening tournament of the fall season, taking all four singles draws and the main doubles draw in the 2021 Bedford Cup.
 
The final day of the four-day competition began with an all-Denver doubles final that saw Anna Riedmiller and Tatum Burger take down Britt Pursell and Camille Verden-Anderson 6-2.
 
Sunday's slate then turned to four singles finals that saw a Pioneer in each of the four. In the main draw (Alpha), Riedmiller took her match 6-2, 6-3. Pursell took the Bravo draw in straights, 6-3, 6-0. In the Charlie draw final, Toni Nelson came from a set down to win 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. In her collegiate debut weekend, Andrea Burguete Beltran capped off her perfect weekend by taking the Delta draw, losing just 11 games in six sets.

Denver will be back in action when four Pioneers represent the program at the 2021 ITA All-American Championships, starting October 4 in Charleston, S.C.
