Â
Denver has opened it campaign 3-0 after two wins last weekend in Northern California, winning 8-6 at Stanford and 15-5 at California.
Â
The Buckeyes are coming off a win against a familiar foe to the Pioneers, defeating Big East-foe Marquette 18-11 on Sunday. Ohio State also holds a 3-0 record entering Friday.
Â
DU and OSU will be playing their first game in Denver against one another since March 26, 2000 (OSU won 19-5).
Â
This is the start of a season-long four-game homestand for the Pioneers, as they'll also play UC Davis, Vanderbilt and top-ranked Boston College. Admission is free while space is available, though spectators will have the option to donate to the program.
Â
Last Time Out
Denver notched its second 10-plus goal margin of victory on Sunday against California, winning 15-5. The Pioneers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first 10 minutes and didn't look back. Five Pios found the back of the net in the contest, led by attacker
Bea Behrins, who accounted for five of the 15 goals in the game. Freshman goalkeeper
Emelia Bohi stopped four free-position shots by the Golden Bears and got help from her defense by only facing 10 shots on target in the entire contest. The defense held Cal off the scoreboard for 30:30 of game time, allowing the offense to pull away with seven goals and put the game out of reach.
