PLL to Host Week 9 Games at Peter Barton August 5-6

Eight former Pioneers will return to their college home stadium this August

LOS ANGELES, CA. (PLL - March 9, 2022) - The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) powered by Ticketmaster announced today that the league will travel to Denver for its Week 9 games. Peter Barton Stadium at the University of Denver will host four games from August 5th to August 6th. 

"The first DI lacrosse-only stadium, Peter Barton Stadium is a symbol of our sport migrating west," said Co-Founder and CEO Michael Rabil. "Eight former Pioneers are now on PLL rosters. This weekend will be an incredible homecoming for Eric Law, Wes Berg, Trevor Baptiste, TD Ierlan, Colin Squires, Jackson Morrill, Danny Logan, and Ethan Walker."

Friday night will feature a 7:00PM MT faceoff. Saturday afternoon will feature a triple-header. Start times are scheduled for 12:00PM MT, 2:45PM MT, and 5:30PM MT.

"We're very excited to bring the top players in the world to Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium this August," head coach Bill Tierney said. "The Premier Lacrosse League has made tremendous strides to grow our sport, and to give our fans the opportunity to watch elite-level talent in the first lacrosse-specific stadium, that we call home, is a tremendous honor. We're looking forward to watching some of the best players to ever come through this program lace it up again at Peter Barton."    

Eight DU grads are currently on PLL rosters: Atlas LC attackman Eric Law ('13), Chaos LC attackman Wes Berg ('15), Atlas LC faceoff athlete Trevor Baptiste ('18), Redwoods LC faceoff athlete TD Ierlan ('21), Whipsnakes LC defender Colin Squires ('21), Chrome LC attackman Jackson Morrill ('21), Atlas LC midfielder Danny Logan ('21), and Waterdogs LC attackman Ethan Walker ('21). 

Baptiste won the 2021 Paul Cantabene Faceoff Athlete of the Year Award, the second of his career. Logan earned the George Boiardi Hard Hat SSDM Award during his rookie season with Atlas. And Eric Law received the 2021 Dave Huntley Sportsmanship Award. 

Walker (279 career points at DU) and Berg (255) rank first and second, respectively, in school history. Berg is the Pioneers' all-time leading goal scorer (188); Walker is the all-time leader in assists (98).

ABOUT PETER BARTON STADIUM 
Built in 2005, Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium was the first Division I lacrosse-only stadium in the country and serves as the home of the University of Denver's men's and women's lacrosse programs. The stadium has been selected to host many conference championships, including the 2016 and 2018 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship and the upcoming 2022 BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Championship. The Lacrosse Capital of the West also played host to the 2019 MLL Semifinals. In its history, Peter Barton Stadium has seen 53 sellouts, including 50 since Bill Tierney took over as head coach in 2010.
