DENVER – University of Denver women's soccer forward
Camryn MacMillan, midfielder
Sami Feller, center back
Devan McSwain and goalkeeper
Nerea Arrazola will all return for a fifth season this fall, head coach
Jeff Hooker announced on Thursday.
The four seniors have combined for 233 appearances in their careers with the Crimson and Gold, including 187 starts. DU's three fifth-year returning field players have also combined for 44 goals and 32 assists.
MacMillan is coming off a knee injury six games into the 2021 spring season (2020 fall delayed) that forced her to also miss the entire 2021 fall season. In her 2019 campaign, MacMillan made 20 appearances, including 18 in Hooker's Starting XI, scoring five goals and adding two assists.
Feller leads the quartet with 77 appearances and 72 starts, posting 82 career points on 28 goals and 26 assists. Following three-straight seasons of 8+ goals in her first three years, Feller setup 11 Denver goals last fall. Feller, who has played in 5739 minutes, has 10 game-winning goals in her career.
McSwain has played a key role in Denver's defense each of the last two seasons, starting 40 of the 41 matches she's played in in her last two years. The Glenwood Springs, Colo., native got on the scoresheet on set pieces last fall, scoring three times for the Pioneers, all against Summit League opponents.
Arrazola started all 42 Denver matches in the calendar year of 2021 (combining both the delayed spring season and the 2021 fall season). She enters her fifth season with the program with a 29-9-3 record, and keeper of 19 clean sheets. Arrazola has a 0.83 goals against average.
