SPARKS, Md. – The second season of Athletes Unlimited professional women's lacrosse gets underway this week at USA Lacrosse headquarters in Maryland. Week 1 of the four-week competition starts on Thursday night with a pair of games before competition resumes over the weekend.
 
Alum and current DU volunteer assistant Molly Little ('21) and assistant coach Brittany Read return for a second campaign with AU this year, and both will be on the same squad in Week 1. Read served as the captain of Team Purple and drafted Little, as well as 2021 and 2022 Tewaaraton Award winner Charlotte North, who will be making her pro debut this week.
 
Read and Team Purple open the season against Team Gold, captained by Caylee Waters, on Thursday at 7 p.m. on national TV on ESPN2. All four teams will play each other over the course of three days.

Week 2 is from July 28-31, week 3 is Aug. 4-7 and week 4 is Aug. 11-14. All games throughout the season will air on the networks of ESPN.
 
Read, a goalkeeper, finished fifth on the AU leaderboard in 2021 with 1595 points, while defender Little was 37th with 1029 points.
