BOULDER, CO --The Denver volleyball team racked up 17 blocks in a four-set loss (22-25, 25-17, 15-25, 20-25) to the Green Bay Phoenix Friday at CU Events Center.
The non-conference loss moved Denver to 0-2 on the season.
Hailey Green finished with 11 kills on the day to lead the Pioneers offense. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Isabella Vasquez had 13 and Ryen Wilkens had 12. From the front row, Cadi Boyer contributed nine blocks and Memphis Glasgow added five rejections.

SET 1 | The Pioneers dropped a back-and-forth first set, losing 25-22 in a game that featured three lead changes and was tied eight times. Neither team led by more than four points in the match.
SET 2 | Denver tied the match at 1-1 following a 25-17 set-two win. The Pioneers scored first and never trailed in the set to secure the victory. Denver opened up as much as a 10 point lead at 23-13 before finishing off the set. The Denver offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
SET 3 | Green Bay responded to win set number three, putting Denver in a two sets to one hole. The Pioneers lost a tough set 25-15. Denver trailed by as many as 12 points as Green Bay grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was tied up two times before the Phoenix took over the lead.
SET 4 | Denver then dropped the fourth set 25-20 to finish off the match. Green Bay grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 and Denver was never able to recover in a set that was knotted up eight times before the Phoenix took over the lead.
