DENVER – University of Denver graduate student
Sami Feller was named the TicketSmarter Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week for Week 4, the league announced on Monday.
The Grand Junction, Colorado, native scored twice against Colorado State on Sunday including the game winner in the 90
th minute, helping Denver to a 2-1 victory on the road.
Feller started the match with Denver's earliest goal of the season (4:27) and then sealed the victory with her second goal of the day at 89:19, the fourth latest game winner in regulation in Denver's Division I history. It was also the 14
th latest overall goal in program history.
The grad student has now scored two goals in a single match six times in her career.
With her performance against CSU, Feller moved to third in the Summit League for points (nine) and tied for fifth in goals (three).
This is the third Summit League weekly honor of Feller's career. She also collected Offensive Player of the Week honors on October 1, 2018, and September 30, 2019. The 2019 Summit League Freshman of the Year also owns First-Team All-Summit League honors in each of her first four seasons at Denver, as well as All-Tournament Team recognition for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons.
Feller will help lead Denver in its final non-conference match of the season when DU travels to Colorado on Saturday, September 17. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. MT.
