Denver Sets 2022-23 Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Schedule

The Pioneers will host six meets in 2022-23

DENVER – The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs have set their 2022-23 schedules, head coach Alicia Hicken-Franklin announced on Wednesday. Denver will host six meets at El Pomar Natatorium in 2022-23.

Denver will open the season with the Denver Relays to kickoff the campaign. An hour into the pre-meet tailgate outside, Denver Diving will get things started at 12 p.m. MT, before the swimmers take to the water at 2:30 p.m. MT inside El Pomar. The opening weekend festivities will cap off with a group of parents and alumni attending the Denver Hockey game vs. Maine that night (RSVP by Sept. 12).

The following weekend, Denver will welcome Air Force and LSU to El Pomar (Oct. 15) before heading to Las Vegas for its first road trip of the year (Oct. 21-22).

Denver's women will split for the first time in 2022-23 on October 28 when the Pioneers host Colorado State. The men's and women's program will then host the Denver Invite the following weekend (Nov. 4-6).

The Pioneers marquee event of the first half of the season will see the Pioneers make a return visit to the Big Al Invite in Princeton, N.J (Dec. 2-4).

Following the Pioneers' training trip, Denver will return home on January 6 for its Senior Day meet against BYU. Denver will travel to Wyoming to close out the opening weekend of the New Year the following day (Jan. 7).

Denver's men's and women's program will fly to LA the next weekend. The women will take on UCLA, while the Denver men battle USC and UC San Diego on January 14. Denver's divers will take part in the UCLA Diving Invite at the same time.

The Pioneers will end January and begin February in their usual way, battling their southern neighbors from the Air Force Academy in the Sprint Eliminator meet. DU's divers will start February at the Air Force Diving Invite (Feb. 2-4).

In the final preparation before the championship season, Denver will host the First Chance Invitational February 10-11 at El Pomar.

The 2023 Summit League Championship will be held in Minneapolis (Feb. 22-25), the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships will be in Federal Way, Wash. (March 6-8), the NIC Championships will be held in Elkhart, Ind. (March 10-12), the Women's NCAA Championships will be in Knoxville (March 15-18) and the NCAA Men's Championships will take place in Minneapolis (March 22-25).
