DU Women’s Tennis Favorites to Win Summit League Title

Melville named to Preseason Athletes to Watch List

DENVER – The University of Denver women's tennis team was selected as favorites to win the 2023 Summit League title, the league announced on Tuesday.
 
The defending Summit League champion, Denver topped the Summit League preseason poll with 49 votes including all but one of the first-place votes from a head coaches' vote.

1. Denver (49 points, seven first-place votes)
2. South Dakota (47 points, one first-place vote)

Denver fifth-year student-athlete Taylor Melville was named to the 2023 Summit League Women's Tennis Preseason Athletes to Watch List. The Duluth, Georgia, native has earned All-Summit League First Team honors in the last two seasons and finished the 2022 fall season ranked No. 56 in the ITA Fall Rankings following a trip to the round of 16 at the ITA National Fall Championships.
 
DU begins its 2023 campaign at the Long Beach State Winter Invitational from January 20-22 before returning home to host Colorado State at Denver Tennis Park on Saturday, January 28, at 1:30 p.m. MT.
