DENVER – University of Denver women's soccer player and freshman
Liv Moritz is ranked No. 34 in the 2023 Top Drawer Soccer Women's Midseason Top 100 Freshmen rankings, released on Wednesday.
So far in 2023, Moritz has netted a team high-tying six goals and 16 points while making the starting XI in every match. The Vail, Colorado, native has scored two game winners for Denver – the most on the team – and has at least one shot in 10 of DU's 15 matches played including a season-high eight at Oregon on September 10.
The Denver freshman was named the Summit League Offensive Peak Performer of the Week for Week 4 and is the highest-ranked of two Summit League players who appear on the list.
Moritz is the first DU player earn a place on the TDS Midseason Freshman rankings since
Sami Feller in 2018 (No. 69). The only other Pioneer to earn a place in the rankings was Brooke Boothe (No. 79 in 2013).
The University of Denver women's soccer team (9-1-5, 5-0-1 Summit) begins the penultimate week of the regular season when it plays at North Dakota State on Thursday, October 19, at 6:30 p.m. CT/5:30 p.m. MT.
