PRINCETON, New Jersey – The University of Denver men's and women's swimming and diving programs closed out the final prelims session of the 2023 BIG Al Invitational on Sunday morning at Denunzio Natatorium. In total, 22 swimmers will swim in point-scoring finals on Sunday night.

Event-by-Event Recap
Denver opened the final day of competition by putting two swimmers in the 200 back B-Final.
Darian Koler tied for the 10
th best time in the prelims with a 1:59.32, while
Lilly Zippel qualified 16
th with a 2:01.34.
Dylan Wright highlighted the Denver men's opening event, clocking in the second-best time in the prelims of the men's 200 back with his time of 1:43.99. The Pioneers qualified three more men into the B-Final of the event.
Liam Simmons finished 14
th in 1:47.42 and
Quinn Collins and
Max Roslin tied for the 15
th-spot with their times of 1:47.95.
Shifting to the sprint freestyle event of the morning session,
Erika Remington took third in the prelims of the 100 free with her time of 50.00.
Kali Metuzals and
Ines Marin both qualified for the B-Final in the sprint-free with their times of 51.29 and 51.33, respectively.
Frank Tirone and
Donat Fabian continued their strong weekends by punching tickets to tonight's B-Final in the 100 free. Tirone clocked in at 44.34, while Fabian finished 11
th in 44.67.
Saturday's backstroke event was the 200, a prelim event that saw
Jessica Maeda qualify third with a 2:15.56. A trio of Pioneers qualified for the B-Final in
Zoe Lynch,
Tenaya Winter and
Sophia Remington.
Alex Lynch turned in an NCAA B-Standard time of 1:56.10 in the men's 200 breast to earn the top qualification spot in the event on Sunday.
Marco Nosack qualified for the B-Final in 11
th after a 2:00.02.
Denver's women qualified four swimmers for the 200 fly B-Final on Sunday.
Sarah Turchanik,
Sabrina Rachjaibun,
Daniela Alfaro and
Mia Moulden will all swim in the event this evening.
Brandon Chapman took 12
th in the men's 200 fly to earn a point-scoring swim on Sunday night.
