DENVER – The University of Denver men's basketball program will play its first Summit League home game of the 2023-24 season on Sunday when the Pioneers welcome Oral Roberts to Hamilton Gymnasium. The 3 p.m. MT tip will be broadcast live on Altitude TV, the Summit League Network and 104.3 The Fan HD3.

SERIES HISTORY:
Oral Roberts holds an 11-10 series lead in the Pioneers modern DI history, winning each of the last six and eight of the last night. Denver's last win in the series came in February of 2020, a 100-96 overtime victory. Denver had a six-game winning streak of its own in the series from 2016-19.
DOUBLE DIGIT WORKLOAD:
Tommy Bruner leads the Pioneers with 86 career games in double figures, including 16-straight contests spanning back to the end of last season. Touko Tainamo is the next closest Pioneer with 40 games in double figures, including in 11 of the 14 games for Denver this season.
100 GAMES PLAYED:
Both fifth-year guard Tommy Bruner and graduate student transfer Jaxon Brenchley have crossed the century mark in games played in their NCAA career this season.
LAST TIME OUT:
Denver's offense exploded for 95 points in its Summit League-opening win at Omaha on Friday night inside Baxter Arena. DU's 95 points was its most in a Division I away game, and the win in a Summit League opener was the Pioneers first since defeating Oral Roberts in December of 2016. Denver's late-December win on Friday was also its first in the first conference road game of the season since defeating Arkansas State in 2011-12
BRUNER LEADS DENVER IN NATIONAL STATISTICS RANKINGS:
- Tommy Bruner ranks first in the country in points per game (24.2), second in free-throws made (99), fifth in field goals made (103).
- Touko Tainamo ranks 23rd in free-throw attempts (89) and 20th in free-throws made (69). Tainamo is also tied for 44th nationally in double-doubles with four.
- Jaxon Brenchley is 10th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (3.75).
- Isaiah Carr ranks 14th in the country in blocked shots (29).
- Denver entered the weekend fourth in the country in free-throw attempts per game (27.4) and second in free-throw makes per game (20.7).
- As a team, the Pioneers are 29th in scoring offense (84.3), 80th in rebounds per game (39.21) and eighth in turnovers per game (9.1).

The entire league steps back out of conference play next week for the Inaugural Big Sky/Summit Challenge. Denver hosts Idaho State in the backend of a 5 and 7:30 p.m. MT double header with the women's program on Wednesday in Hamilton before both the men's and women's programs head to Northern Colorado on January 6.
