DENVER – The University of Denver gymnastics team is ranked No. 8 in the Week 5 Road to Nationals rankings, which were released on Monday.
 
TEAM NATIONAL RANKINGS
Overall: No. 8 (197.155 average)
Vault: No. 7 (49.270)
Bars: tie-No. 8 (49.325)
Beam: No. 8 (49.300)
Floor: No. 18 (49.260)
 
Denver increased its overall season average by nearly a tenth after earning the ninth-highest score in program history (197.500) on February 5 against Pittsburgh, George Washington and Air Force. DU moved up two spots on floor after matching its season's best score of 49.400 while also increasing its vault ranking by one. The team is ranked No. 8 on beam and tied for No. 8 on bars for the second week in a row.
 
INDIVIDUAL NATIONAL RANKINGS
Junior Jessica Hutchinson
All-Around: No. 25 (39.340)
Beam: tie-No. 24 (9.890)
Floor: tie-No. 11 (9.920)
 
Junior Rylie Mundell
Bars: tie-No. 25 (9.890)
 
Hutchinson makes her first appearance in the all-around rankings of the season while jumping 12 spots on floor after her perfect 10.0 on Sunday. She also extended her streak of being nationally-ranked on beam in every week this season.
 
Mundell returns to the bars rankings for the first time since Week 8 of the 2022 season and just narrowly missed a spot in top 25 in the all-around after a career-best 39.625 performance on February 5.
 
No. 8 Denver hosts its final competition of a three-meet homestand on Sunday, February 12, when it welcomes Big 12 Conference opponent West Virginia at 1:45 p.m. MT in Magness Arena.
