CLERMONT, Fla. – University of Denver triathletes were split into two races on Sunday on the second day of the 2023 Draft-Legal Clermont Challenge at Lake Louisa State Park.

Elizabeth Harita and
Nadiya Linde-Elmhirst took part in the NCAA Super Sprint, while sophomore
Avarie Faulkner raced in the National Development Sprint event.
Faulkner placed 15th in her competition by clocking in with a total time of 1:06:36.8. The race comprised of a 750-meter swim in the lake before a four-lap bike portion totaling 20 kilometers and a two-lap, 5K run.
In the super sprint, Funes came in second in a time of 31:31.1 and Harita placed ninth in 32:39.6. Only Beth Cook of Queens University posted a better mark at 31:18.7. Elmhirst was disqualified after finishing the course in 34:08.1.
The super sprint distance consisted for a 375-meter swim, 10K bike and 2.5K run.
