DU Triathlon Adds Cameron Bell for 2023 Season

Incoming freshman also has a swimming and water polo background

DENVER The University of Denver women's triathlon program announced today that the team has added Cameron Bell to its roster for the upcoming 2023 regular season.

"Cameron is coming to the team with a very diverse background," said Denver triathlon head coach Barbara Perkins. "She has grown up with club swimming, water polo, has done some triathlons and also following her dad, who is also a triathlete. She is part of the Pioneer Leadership Program and is going to play a role in connecting us with different groups across campus."

Bell will be an incoming freshman after graduating in the spring from Shorewood High School in Shoreline, Washington. At Shorewood, Bell competed on both the girls swimming and water polo teams and placed in the top 16 in all three years in the state qualifying relays in swimming. Bell has previously competed in local triathlons in Washington.

"I chose the University of Denver for the academic opportunities within my major of interest as well as its proximity to the outdoors," Bell said. "The school size and student culture were exactly what I was looking for."

A member of her high school's dean's list all four years, Bell was named the high school's Student of the Year in 2020 and Presidential Scholar in 2023. She intends to major in political science and minor in leadership and environmental science at Denver.
