DENVER – The University of Denver women's soccer team topped the 2023 Summit League Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll, the league announced on Tuesday.
This is the seventh-consecutive season that Denver has been picked as the favorite to win the Summit League. DU captured the regular-season title for the fifth year in a row in 2022.

- Denver (62 points, six first-place votes)
- South Dakota State (59 points, three first-place votes)

- Kansas City (11 points)
Additionally, Denver graduate students
Hannah Gallegos and
Kaitlyn Glover were named 2023 Summit League Players to Watch.
Gallegos was a 2022 Summit League Honorable Mention and earned a spot on the 2022 Summit League All-Tournament Team. She had the third-most minutes played for Denver last season, scored her second career goal and added an assist – both during league matches.
Glover collected 2022 All-Summit League First Team honors after playing in 18 matches and making 16 starts. Her three game winners in 2022 were the most on the DU roster, and she also shared the Denver lead in total points (18) and assists (6).
Denver begins its 2023 campaign at home against Colorado State on Thursday, August 17, at 7 p.m. MT. The team opens Summit League play on Saturday, September 23, when it hosts Oral Roberts.
