COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Denver women's tennis team will claim the 2023 Bedford Cup singles title after graduate student Britt Pursell and junior Andrea Burguete Beltran each advanced to the final on Saturday.
 
Pursell won both her Friday quarterfinal and Saturday semifinal matches in straight sets while Beltran needed three sets in each of her victories.
 
The Denver duo, who are playing in the doubles draw together but fell in the quarterfinals on Friday, have not previously played against each other in a tournament singles match.
 
A third DU student-athlete will play for a singles title at the Bedford Cup in sophomore Caroline Driscoll, who used straight-sets wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals to advance to the Charlie Draw title match.
 
The Bedford Cup concludes on Sunday with final doubles and singles matches, beginning at 9:00 a.m. MT.
