DENVER – University of Denver men's tennis player and senior Nicolas Herrero Cuesta is ranked No. 111 in the 2023 ITA Preseason National Singles rankings, the ITA announced on Tuesday.
 
The 2023 Summit League Player of the Year finished the 2022-23 season ranked No. 4 in the ITA Mountain Regional rankings after finishing the year with a 31-7 singles record. He went 12-4 at No. 1 singles for Denver last season and added a perfect 7-0 record when playing in the No. 2 slot.
 
Denver was ranked No. 59 in the final national team rankings for 2022-23 and was the No. 2-ranked team in the mountain region. DU captured its fourth consecutive Summit League regular-season title last season after achieving an undefeated conference slate and finishing the year with a 15-8 record in dual matches.
 
Herrero Cuesta will help lead Denver when it begins its 2023 fall schedule at the Bedford Cup in the Mountains, hosted by Air Force, on September 22-24.
