DENVER – The University of Denver men's tennis team led the 2024 Summit League Men's Tennis Preseason Poll and will enter the upcoming dual season as favorites to win the 2024 League title, the Summit League announced on Tuesday.
Last year's regular-season champion, Denver finished at the top of the coaches' preseason poll for 2024 with a narrow lead over 2023 tournament champion Drake.

1. Denver (23 points, three first-place votes)
2. Drake (22 points, two first-place votes)
3. Omaha (16 points, one first-place vote)

Daniel Sancho Arbizu was named to the 2024 Summit League Preseason Athletes to Watch list as well. The Zaragoza, Spain, native was recognized as the 2023 Summit League Newcomer of the Year and added All-Summit League honors. He finished the 2022-23 season with a 30-6 singles record with 18 wins coming in dual matches.
In the 2023 fall season, Sancho Arbizu qualified for the ITA National Fall Championships after advancing to the singles final at the ITA Mountain Regional. During the fall season, he earned wins over nationally-ranked players in then-No. 36 Dusan Milanovic from Mississippi State and then-No. 110 Sebastien Collard from Michigan State at the prestigious Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
DU will begin its 2024 dual campaign on January 27-28 when it plays Western Michigan and Purdue in two matches hosted by the Boilermakers before Denver hosts its first home match of the season against Utah on February 2. The Pioneers will begin their Summit League slate on March 31 against North Dakota at home.
Denver will look to win its sixth league title at the 2024 Summit League Tennis Championship, which is set for April 19-20 and will be hosted by Drake.
